My business partner got the iPhone 6 plus today and....

Available quantities of the iPhone 6+ have also been much lower than any other iPhone prior, from my understanding.

I heard that you could still buy one though, even though it's been record season for iPhone launch sales. If you know of any numbers please tell!

I haven't tried to purchase one personally, so I can't speak to it's availability in my area (and I would assume that availability will vary from area to area), but from everything I've read online (articles from around the time of its launch), you could order an iPhone 6 and have it shipped to you within 7-10 business days, while the shortest estimated delivery time for an iPhone 6+ was from the Apple online store at 3-4 weeks, with other online retailers showing everything from "no estimated delivery time frame" (Sprint) to late October (Verizon) and early November (AT&T). T-Mobile wasn't even offering iPhone 6+ devices for sale in store (save for pre-orders) at time of launch.

Even just checking att.com right now, an iPhone 6 will ship to you in 7-14 business days, while an iPhone 6+ will ship in 28-35 business days. Verizon.com states that the iPhone 6 will ship by 10/21, while the iPhone 6+ will ship by 11/14. T-Mobile just states that both will be available soon. Sprint says that they will do their best to ship the iPhone 6 within 2-4 weeks and the iPhone 6+ in 4-6 weeks. Apple online store still state 7-10 business days for the iPhone 6 and 3-4 weeks for the iPhone 6+.

So yeah, I don't have any official numbers for you, but I'm pretty sure there is a lack of availability of the iPhone 6+ and that it probably played a role of any sales shortcomings one might infer upon the device.

I'm not saying the IPhone 6+ won't sell 5,000,000 devices or that it is not a great device, but the fact is that it is a huge frame for a 5.5 screen. The Note 4 is 5.7 and is a smaller frame. Anyone who argues that the size difference doesn't matter in daily usage is delusional and I don't buy it for a second.

Ah, thanks. Yeah it's quite annoying that concrete info isn't available. I imagine apple do share volumes with accessory makers though?

As mentioned in a prior post of mine, my L1520 is actually bigger than the iPhone 6+ (which, on top of, has features built in to aid in one handed operation, where as the L1520 did not). There really wasn't much of a difference in how I held and operated my L1520 in comparison to how I hold and operate my G3. A big phone is a big phone. Neither was easier nor harder to hold and operate. You don't have to believe it, but I'm speaking from experience.

Do we even know the production supply of both phones. There might also be a case where Apple thought the 6 would sell more than the 6+ and had an increased supply of 6 over 6+. That would explain the lead times in delivery. Also, are there numbers available that show the breakdown of sales between 6 and 6+. I am actually curious about this.

That's actually what I'm trying to get at. The original conversation began because of a statement implying that the iPhone 6+ was selling poorly in comparison, considering the record breaking sales the new iPhones were receiving. I was merely suggesting that if there are lower sales for the iPhone 6+, that it could be due to a lack of availability, rather than a lack of demand. That last post, which you quoted, was me merely stating how I came to that conclusion, considering no official sales breakdown has been released (only general sales figures for both the iPhone 6 and the 6+ combined). Even if official sales figures were released, they still would not factor in things such as people settling for an iPhone 6, rather than an iPhone 6+, due to the 6+ not being available (which it greatly hasn't been, even when the 6 was readily available).

Basically : c'mon apple, release some figures! :p

I ordered an iPhone 6 online Sept. 15 and was given Oct. 14 as the delivery date. I actually got it Sept. 30. I was pretty upset with the Oct. 14 date, so was glad to see it come 2 weeks earlier than I expected. It was like Christmas *smile*. the iPhone 6+ is too big for me to carry around comfortably, so I didn't even go there.

Anyways, they seem to give out "worst case" delivery dates so that you won't be disappointed. It's worth the wait, much less hassle to use than Android, in my opinion. I feel obligated to root an Android phone to get rid of all the Verizon and Samsung (or whoever) bloat, and get the Google framwork and services stuff under control. And so on. I wrote a little iPhone 6 review over on the "Are you going to the iPhone 6" thread *smile*.

No doubt that some companies mess up their phones. But just based on people I know (non tech literate), they don't often complain. They assume everyone has X feature or whatever.
