My data on my samsung S4 keeps rasing when im not even using it could someone tell me how to stop it

I dont know whats going on with my samsung galaxy S4 but every few minutes my data is getting comsumed when im not even using it does anybody know how to correct this problem i have 4gigs a month and my cylcle just started two days ago and im already over 2.0
