My droidx is slowing down, reboots on me a couple of times a week.

What do I need to do to speed it up.

You probably could start by removing unnecessary applications off the phone. Some apps conflicts with each other and tend to slow the phone down. Clear your history, cookies, and cache occasionally. Restart the phone every night before going to sleep.

Note: Most of all... don't use any task killer - they slow the phone down. The phone already have a built in task killer of its own.

Good luck to you.

+1 on the Task Killer.

If you are having restart issues I would consider backing up what you can and doing a factory reset if the problem gets worse. Mostly though rush is spot on. There could be an app conflict. What kinds of slowness are you having?

If you are using LauncherPro that is being known to cause reboots after the new Verizon update. It was happening to me several times a day at the most annoying times, I've had to stop using LP until it gets patched.

If you are rooted I would also try doing a wipe of the cache from the CM Bootstrap. I do it every so often and it keeps things running smooth.

Try Android Assistant. Download from App Market. It seems to help speed up my DX. Has a Start Up Manager that allows you to prevent some applications from starting automatically when you boot up your phone. I was amazed how many programs launch automatically upon start up. Many of them I hardly EVER use.

I use History Eraser and Cache Cleaner once in a while when I feel the phone lag. I also have a task killer but it does not auto-kill. I manually go in there to kill off task. Also some apps are not programmed to close apps but hitting the back/escape key so I use task killer for that. Also I put a lot of apps on the ignore list. Like voice search, handcent, browser, etc...

A corrupted file/filesystem on your sd card can also lead to rebooting, lagging and freezing.
