My ear piece is not working.

Can someone please help me. When I do anything which requires sound I cannot hear anything. Example: I will call someone and they can hear me but I cannot hear them or I go online to watch a video and I can't hear anything. On my "notification bar" it has a symbol for head phones and when I scroll down it has an "earphones" tool bar. I do not have anything plugged in to my phone. How do I get rid of the earphone setting?

It could be the result of a bad headphone jack. If you use your headphone jack a lot it could be its stuck in the headphone mode.
