If its any help to you out there thinking about this I just traded in the Bionic for the Maxx. I paid nearly full retail - I added a line, dumped an old phone on that (they do that in the computer now, don't even have to activate the dumper phone) so saved $110 over the two years. And my company gets another $50 off (if you add a line, NOT if you just buy the phone) so paid $279 up front.

Many have discussed the minor differences from Droid RAZR to the RAZR Maxx and we know about the form factor differences and the battery life differences. But after reading all that I was still surprised at my experience with the Maxx vs. the Bionic.

The Maxx is faster, way, way faster in anything doing with the UI. Opening, closing, scrolling - all of it is rocket ship fast compared the Bionic. It also is much faster to boot from off to on - about 1 minute compared to several minutes for the Bionic.

The screen (and I know this is very subjective) is sharper, brighter, crisper and movies look awesome on it.

Of course its much thinner and holding them up together in the store with all the security wiring and power cords doesn't really tell you - it just feels much lighter and more "pocketable" even though the outside dimensions are a little bigger in both directions.

AND, at least so far no data drops which was an everyday occurrence on the Bionic with a power cycle the only solution! AND (last plus) battery life is double my old phone, no joke this is the future of 4G phone batteries!

LOL I did the exact same thang as you....I added a line just so I could get this awesome phone. I couldn't be happier. I am impressed with all the thangs you listed as well as the camera...it is way snappier than my Bionic was. I really liked my Bionic but the constant dropped data, wouldn't even stay connected on WiFi, and slow camera were just way to much for me. I am very happy with this phone and hope it keeps up the good work!!!

I took my phone off the charger @ 6:50 am this morning and just put it back on about an hour ago and it was down to 30%. This is after being in a 4G area, constantly off and on the internet all day, several text and emails, reorganizing my SD Card pictures and music, downloading a few new songs and wallpapers, and I took a few pics. None of my other smartphones would've come close to this battery life. It is such a breath of fresh air to not have to constantly plug my phone in every where I go.

How is compared to a bionic with an extended battery as far as battery life goes?

When getting the Maxx on a new line, can you somehow put it on your original line and the dummy phone on the second line. I need the Maxx on my original line because my customers know that number.

I took this same course and I REALLY miss my Bionic. But the Maxx is certainly a better phone. I switched because I wanted a bigger battery in a thinner phone. I LOVE my Maxx but I still miss that darn Bionic. It was a fantastic phone but I am glad I went to the Maxx. Both are awesome.
