I tried rooting my S3 to install CM last night and now when I try to boot it fails after I type in my password for the encryption which I probably should have removed prior to trying to root it. My question is can I go back and use Odin to restore it (I can get in to Download mode) or have I bricked it because I didn't decrypt it first...

Yes, you can use Odin to reload the stock firmware. If you can boot into Recovery mode I'd recommend clearing the system cache and performing a Factory Reset before you proceed with reloading the stock firmware (just to be sure that encryption is taken care of).

I had the same problem last night. My phone had 35% battery and it turned off all of a sudden randomly. now i cant get it to turn on. It only loads the Samsung screen and the Galaxy S3 symbol.

This is the same issue I'm having with my T Mobile S3

been having issues with my S3

nothing comes up on the screen

i get a vibration when i press the power button and get a blue light in the corner but nothing on screen.

on occasions iv gotten a bright blue screen with vertical and horizontal lines moving

Take the battery out and hold the power button for maybe 30 sec and then put the battery back in and hold the power button and charge it .... I have the same phone and problem this worked for me

Hello Guys

Need your help!!

I rooted my Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-I9300 with Cyanogenmod 11 few months back..it was working perfectly fine till today, while i was using my phone camera and my phone freezed suddenly. Nothing was working..then i restarted my phone by long pressing the power button , but the phone is not starting up...first the samsung logo appears on the screen ..then it goes to boot animation of Cyanogen and gets stuck at it. nothing happens after that....I have tried to remove the battery and place it back and then starting the phone...issue still persists .. i have tried to bo the phone in recovery or download mode by using volume key, home and power button ..but nothing happens... i am not able to go to any mode and still stuck at the boot animation screen.

Please please please help me

i was in the middle of playing a game and it just turned off on me i turned it back on it got to my home screen then turned right back off...it has a half full battery so i dont have a clue whats going on with..i havent had any problems with it until now so i dont know whats happening to it..

Defs sounds like a battery issue.

Before you replace the battery i'd recommend cleaning out any dust from the back of the case and make sure the battery is making good contact with the phone.

I have the Samsung galaxy s3 as well and this is my third phone of the kind! I really don't mean to be rude towards the phone because while its working it is a great phone but this is the second time i have had the same problem. I have tried a different battery, pressing the three buttons at once and trying to enter recovery mode, and leaving my battery out for a day. None of it worked and i am extremely tempted to switch to an i phone (my dad and brother both have i phones). If there is any other way PLEASE LET ME KNOW i love the phone but i hate how it's refusing to turn on. :'(

I updated my Samsung galaxy s3 yesterday but now it won't turn on at all
I tried taking the battery out and leaving it for a few minutes that didn't work
I also tried holding the power button and the home and the bottom volume down as well but that didn't work either
is there any way I could fix it

my battery is working in another device and my phone is always showing that samsung galaxy s3 neo logo an suddenly disappear and show in the screen again and it isn't going to the home screen please help

I have the same problem every time I turn mine on it just gets stuck on 'Samsung'
