galaxy s5 powers down and pulse/vibe only will not transmit through my mhl/hdmi adapter

All of this crazy lag in keyboard response, power down when connected to mhl adapter occurred after 5.1 lollipop software update. Any suggestions ? Please help, calls to customer service have been a waste as they are clueless.

Re: galaxy s5 powers down and pulse/vibe only will not transmit through my mhl/hdmi adapter

I had the exact same problems. Tmobile had to send me a new phone with 5.0 on it. They aren't admitting that 5.1.1 has messed up phones but they very quickly offered a new new phone which is very rare for a carrier to do. My headset jack stopped working and the battery life was about a quarter of what it used to be as well. You are not alone and you have to request a new phone since they broke it, not you.

I did my friend, to no avail. I'm grateful for your time to try to help me. I'll check the safe mode next I suppose.btw ,, would you suspect customer service all though tried to convince me I was unique in asking this question? Actually pretended to have never heard of mhl, adapter, they advised the master reset nightmare, no good either. Never the less. My thanks to ya

Re: galaxy s5 powers down and pulse/vibe only will not transmit through my mhl/hdmi adapter

After reading through your title again, I'm a bit puzzled--are you expecting a vibration signal to transmit through the MHL adapter to another device? I don't think that would happen anyway.

It's a bit silly for an Android tech support person to be unaware of what MHL is. Do you mean he had just never heard of a problem with MHL, or that he actually didn't know what MHL meant? Try calling support back, and see if you can get elevated to the next support tier. The first person you talk to might be pretty basic. Just tell them that the problem has not been solved satisfactorily, and you'd like to speak to someone higher up.

Hi,

Did you factory reset your phone before getting a new phone from Tmobile?
Also I looked on amazon and I notice that they have a MHL 3.0 (3rd generation) of the HDMI adapter, do you think that will work instead of factory reset or getting a new phone with 5.0?
