my galaxy s6 says its connected to docking station. but its not

also my screen was black with a small x at the bottom right of screen. I held down the home and power buttons and the up volume and it restarted.

Welcome to Android Central! Check the microUSB port to see if there's any debris in there, or if the contacts appear dirty. If they're clean, then the port itself might be faulty, if the problem is persisting.
