My Gear S charging cradle doesn't fit anymore, had to send all to Samsung Support to resolve

Good Day,

I was informed by my cellphone provider and Samsung's HR Department that they warranty does not cover the replacement of the cradle and the best method was to either replace the cradle or have a 3rd party company fix the cradle (I don't know who fixes these cradles via 3rd party, haha).
Anyways, I found out the way to simply fix this issue:
"Since using tape would be a waste for the economy, a rubber band would work sufficiently. Either take the wrist band off of the watch or unclip the latch and then you can wrap the rubber band around the watch piece and the cradle."
If you would like to receive more information regarding make shift methods, please contact me.

Have a great charging!

Jay.

Yeah I've had few issues myself
After 6 months the clip on my charger broke, I returned to the shop I purchased the Gear S from and they replaced it for me thankfully.
A week later and the clip broke on the watch this time. Sent to Samsung for warranty but they won't fix it because it is physical damage.
After 3 weeks I got my watch back and was resigned to the fact that I have to charge my watch with a rubber band to hold it in place. This worked perfectly well. However a week later and now the watch has a dead screen. I can see that it is connect via bluetooth to my phone and comes up on my PC so I know its on, but the screen is completely blank. Lets hope Samsung was replace it under warranty.

My Gear S charging cradle finally started failing after 1 year of use. However, a while back, somebody had claimed that Tmobile would honor the warranty on the cradle.. Well, that proved not to be correct, but Tmobile as a courtesy told me they would pay for a CLONE, which was $16..

I quickly purchased a clone, and Tmobile reimbursed me the $16, and that is what I am using now. I still have the original.

Looking at a post describing that velcro would allow the original to work, that might bring the original back in service too.

I purchased a Samsung Gear S on 12/05/2014 and its only been 6 months of use and one of the clip on the charging Cradle broke on regular use. It was NOT DROPPED OR NO PHYSICAL DAMAGE was done to it. It broke on regular use. I googled about it and found this to be common issue. I want Samsung to replace the cradle. I have spoken to their so called tech support and they are referring it to physical damage due to abuse which is not covered by the warranty. I believe that it is manufacturing defect or a very poorly designed cradle. Either way, I expect Samsung to stand by their product and replace the cradle. I am in communication with them and waiting to see what they are going to do about it. Gear S is a nice product but its sad that they had to design the cradle so poor. I hope they start replacing the charger for all the gear S owners if they want their loyalty. This would be my last Samsung product if they do not take care of this. I am open to filing a lawsuit against them.. Anyone here ready to support me?

I am in to sue. I am not joking. I've responded to this post three times and it hasn't saved my reply. If you're serious, please contact me. If we have a case, I would like to proceed.

Don't waste your time. I went to AT&T, called corporate, and Samsung. AT&T takes no responsibility for selling the Gear S, which has a design defect, and Samsung will replace the cradle until your warranty runs out. The cradle was not designed to last more than 6 months. I just received my third cradle and demanded that Samsung issue a recall, like other quality companies do, when they become aware of a design or mechanical defect. AT&T and Samsung obviously knew it was defective, since the new Gear S2, charges on the wireless station like the S6, and Note 5. I spoke with Executive Customer Relations and the representative told me to pound salt, when I asked for the upgrade, even though I prefer the Gear S. I bought a 1 1/2" piece of PVC pipe, and with the band closed, it holds the cradle in place, for proper charging. Samsung needs to step up!!

I bought a $10 replacement charger on ebay that had no BBU and just swapped the housing. It works, but the charging indicator LED is covered. I might actually just go ahead and switch to the PCV method so have a secondary charger.

My battery cradle broke. I went to Utube and found a solution ... Find something round, like an empty pill bottle place behind battery in the cradle w/band adjusted to hold the battery tight ... The phone will recharge....
