My GPS finds my location instantly, but will not follow me during navigation.

[Android Central Question]

I am running Android 10 but can not update as I am on an Essential ph-1.

I'm convinced it's not hardware related as I am able to find my location instantly at any time. However, as soon as I start navigation in google maps or Waze etc. the blue dot does not move at all and it doesn't record my speed etc.

I've tried some of the obvious things such as permission settings, battery optimisation settings etc.

Has anybody had a similar problem and managed to fix it?

Are you using a power saving mode? It may impact the GPS. Good luck.

Your GPS won't (as seen in an app like GPS Status & Toolbox)? Or your map program won't?

(If the first, it could be power saving. If the second, contact the seller, carrier, whoever you bought it from. If it just started, what have you changed between the time it worked and the time it stopped working?)
