My GS7 has begun running Spam-like stuff while recharging

I just noticed this when I put my GS7 on a wireless charger, facing up. I'm able to put this out of sight by pressing the Home key (the center key) once or twice. Don't know if this stops anything or just takes it off the display.

Meanwhile I'm looking at offers to sell me things AND a request for me to enter my phone's PIN. I Home-keyed my way out of the PIN question, but the question happening at all makes me nervous.

How can I make this behavior stop?

Android 7.0
Patch level August 1.

Hi. Generally, behavior like this is related to an app you've installed. You might have to do some trial and error work by uninstalling apps until you find the culprit.

It could be the Peel Remote app. Is it saying Good Morning and Good Evening on the charging screen as well?
