My headphones, when plugged into my new Moto G4, are playing music in only one ear!

So, I've been using my AudioTechnica headphones (AUDIO-TECHNICA - ATH-AX1iS) for about 2 years with my Moto E1, and it was working amazing, I used it with my Laptop and were working amazing. But, when I just got my new Moto G4 yesterday and plugged in my headphones, they play music in only one side ( left ). They don't respond to any buttons at all. Yes, I've checked everything in settings and the music player and the the Mono is turned off. And, when i just plug the headphones half-way in the audio jack, music plays on both sides but the buttons don't work. I also tried another bunch of headphones and earphones and its the same case.
