First, thank you for reading my lengthy review! Much appreciated. I ordered a case, it's scheduled to be here on Friday. I will try that tip, thanks. Not having WiFi calling isn't a make it or break it for me, especially since the connectivity is amazing! Super impressed with the Honor 8.

Even in my office where both (mobile data and WiFi) come and go, I was somehow able to watch a 31 minute video without any pauses or lag. I was shocked by that, because every phone I have had generally struggles, so I give up but this one is a champ! It might stutter (because of the connection) but it generally always works.
 
OP - did you try adding your 'At Bat' app to the 'protected apps' in battery manager? I was having some trouble with notifications and that seemed to help. In fact, I was having a weird issue with Android Auto and I think the phone was repeatedly trying to kill the app.

Edit: It worked! So the key is protected apps, unless the app itself is fickle with notifications.

Glad it worked. My note 7 has the same issue and apps have to be added to the protected list .
 
I forgot to add, make sure any third party alarm apps are on the protected list... I didn't do this and my alarm clock didn't go off because the system shut it down since it wasn't protected. Caused me to go to work late
