Android Central Question

Ok..So I have a Samsung UNLOCKED Galaxy Edge 6+which I purchased new on line. It is a Verizon branded phone. However, I am using Straight Talk as my service provider. It is using Verizon Towers and my voicemail is *86 which is the verizon Network. My issue is I have no voice mail notification indicator coming on when I receive a voice mail. I tried all the fixes you can imagine. I can't sign up/ or on to a Verizon account online to change anything because "technically" my phone is not registered with them.; it is through Straight Talk. Being an unlocked phone, I should be able to change the settings. All I want is to get a notification indicator to appear when a voice mail is left. Can any one help?

Welcome to Android Central! Open your Phone app tap Menu>Settings>Call Settings>Voicemail, and see if it's set up properly there.

I have the exact same issue on my unlocked Samsung S7 with straight talk/Verizon.

I do not get notifications when I get a voicemail.

Also, it appears my phone is call forwarding mode even tho I have disabled it many times.

When i power up my phone, my text also doesn't work ... I get an error message indicating service not available. I have to dial *73 (stop call forawarding) then the text works.

But I still don't get indicators when I get a voicemail.

Any suggestions?
