Welcome to the forums. First you could try installing a different keyboard and set it as default. You can use this link for Gboard.

Once you have a functional keyboard installed, go to settings - apps - all - search for the stock keyboard - force stop and clear data.

Thanks for registering. Which LG model do you have? I can move your thread to the proper forum where it'll be easier getting help from other owners.
By the way, can you use Gboard normally?

go to settings>language&keyboard>current keyboard. you should be able to see the LG keyboard there as an option. if you dont see it there, then go to settings>apps>lg keyboard. if its not in the app list, then it got deleted. im not sure if you would have to re download the keyboard from the play store or smart world.

I don't think that the LG Keyboard is a separate "app" I think it is just part of the LG UI. At least I don't have an app listed for it on my G6, neither did my G4. You control it via the Settings under Language & Input (pick LG Keyboard under Default).
Yes, I have found it in apps by using show system but I have tried to force stop and clear data but the Lg keyboard is still giving me issues.
