My M7 all of a sudden has been restarting itself, any clues?

Today my HTC One M7 restarted itself at least 5 times that I know of. While in my pocket, while on the table, and mid-call. It restarted similarly over the last week once or twice I was aware of. I checked and there were no new software updates. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks to all.

In this kind of situation, there are two main things to try first:

1. Boot into Safe Mode, which prevents all 3rd party apps from starting up, and see if the problem persists. If it doesn't, then something you installed is probably causing the instability. you can start opening apps one by one until it starts rebooting on its own, but this can be a bit hard to pinpoint.
