My microphone doesn't work on my Smule sing app

[Android Central Question]

I recently switched phones with Samsung A10. Whenever I try to record a song on the app there was this horrible echoing, reverbing, distorted, sound from hell. It's not the earbuds I've switched them and tried others. The earbuds work fine on my tablet. I have the same problem with other karaoke apps. But the microphone works fine for phone calls and when I use my personal voice recorder. What am I missing?

Welcome to Android Central! Is this only when you use earbuds to record, or does this also happen when using the phone's own mic?
