My Moto G2 (with lollipop) is not being detected by my PC, how can I get them to connect?

Moto G2 (with lollipop) not detected by PC

My 2015 Moto G2 is not being detected by my Windows 7 PC. I installed the "motorola device manager". I do not get the motorola device icon in explorer. While I connect to the PC, I do not get the option to select between MTP and PTP as well. All it does is charging the battery.

Welcome to Android Central! Are you using the original USB cable? Try different cables, since cables can sometimes fail.

The device manager never worked well. And you dont realky need it. I have the same problem on Windows 8. Its only needed if trying to perform an update but since you get the same update over the air there is no need for using it.
