My Moto G5s Plus does not load GIFs on the stock Android Messages app.

GIFs work on every other app (Hangouts, Facebook messenger, Twitter, etc) but come through as images instead of a GIF on the Messages app. Any idea what the fix is?

Welcome to the forums. Is your mobile data working normally in other apps? Can you send normal images through MMS?

Thank you. Yes, normal mobile data is working fine and I also can send and receive images and texts. My Messages app is up-to-date. I have uninstalled and reinstalled. My friend also has the same issue with his Moto G5s Plus. Calling Motorola did me no good.

Thank you. No I have not. I have used Messages for years on Motorola phones so just been used to it. Thanks for the suggestion.

I'll chime in and say that Textra has been my go-to for a long long time. I always go back to it if I try a stock sms app. Looks great, very stable.
