My Music player Stops working

I have a Facinate and am having som audio issues. Whats happening is that when i start playing music (using the Stock player, win amp or double twist) is starts playing fine, but when i turn off the screen and then turn it back on later the it kills the music player, and i have to re launch and it starts the song over

Any ideas

I am rooted but it did this prior to rooting.

It seems to be any third party player not the stock music APP but i would still like to use Win amp

also, this happens only after you turn the screen back on??
