Just moved from an iPhone 15 pro max. I am promiscuous when it comes to phones. I have switched between Apple and Samsung a number of times over the last ten years (I tend to get a new phone every year).

The smart switch app makes it very easy these days and plus I keep all my stuff on the cloud. So, for example, I use google photos for all my pictures and set both the iPhone and Samsung to copy new photos instantly to google photos. It’s funny that I have some photos on Apple and some in Samsung but all in google! I also use google Keep for my notes so am not reliant on Apple notes, for example. I use the Microsoft suite of apps and OneDrive for all my key documents, but google apps for shared documents. I use photoshop lightroom for photo editing which goes across both platforms, and adobe pdf editor.

The only app I haven’t found that is as good as Apple findmy, for locating my children on an iPhone. Anyone know a good one please say. I use google maps for a cross platform locator, but it has a random lag which can be quite long.

What can I say about the S25 ? At 162g it is easily the lightest of all the compact flagship phones. It is also the thinnest (slightly thinner then the S24). It is a joy after my 15 pro max and previous s23 ultra. I am basically giving up the heavy phones now, no need. I use my laptop and iPad Pro when I need a big screen. Having an extra 0.5 of a cm screen is just not worth the weight.

The construction is lovely, with alu sides and toughened glass front and back. I personally think titanium is just an expensive distraction as it weighs the same as alu and is less scratch resistant. Everything depends on the coatings.

I also appreciate the small circle vs the apple island.

Samsung uses the same cpu in all the S25s, so in the S25 you still get the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2, which I understand is the fastest of all mobile phone chipsets now, beating the A18 in the iPhone 16 by 10-20%.

It is certainly super slick. Having slightly less pixels to pump around also helps.

The display is of course the contrast and motion leader, but we should expect nothing less from Samsung.

The cameras are very good. I have a full frame camera for street photography and arty shots, but use the phone extensively for family and reportage. My minimum requirements are a super wide (ie wider then the normal phone 27-28mm FF equiv.) and a telephoto. Some people are complaining about the detail, but this is not an issue of the lens or the sensor, it is because samsung uses more aggressive noise reduction then other brands. It might also be because Samsung sensors are a little more noisy then the more later sensors on some other brands. There are some raw editor apps which are really good if you want much more detailed pics. However built in is a great generative AI photo enhance which I definitely recommend to improve photos that are special. It restores some detail and is much clever about noise reduction. In fact the editing features on the phone are great, including the AI modifications. I think you can easily get by with no other editing tools.

This phone, particularly with the discounts available, at least in the UK, is really amazing value. When compare to the other leading devices, like the heavy iPhone 16 pro or the cpu challenged Google pixel 9 pro, it was really a no brainer for me. A beautiful build, top screen, super fast cpu and descent camera are all I need. Wondering whether I can miss next years upgrade. Although I always say this but give in to temptation :)

Honestly, I didn't want to read it. Lazy. I was just going to just post congrats. LOL

So, I finally used AI and got it to summarize OP.

• A user switched from an iPhone 15 Pro Max to a Samsung Galaxy S25, praising its light weight, thin design, and powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 processor.

• While noting some minor camera detail issues due to aggressive noise reduction, they found the overall camera performance and editing features excellent.

• The phone's value, especially with discounts, was highlighted as a key selling point compared to competitors.

The last point IS what I've been saying lately with Samsung phones. The poll I started shows majority wouldn't buy it either if Samsung completely ended their promotions.

I would just buy iPhone and buy my Oppo, Xiaomi in Manila.
