That should be what all the carriers are doing - "here's your money back, your renewal date is reset (if applicable), and here's $25 for your trouble plus $75 extra if you decide to go Samsung again. What would you like for a new phone?"
Samsung is making very loud noises to get the phones back as soon as possible - every single one of them. If you go to your carrier and the local rep is not willing to help you, ask them to call customer care on your behalf for instructions. If that is unfruitful, call Samsung Customer Care (just don't use your Note 7 to make the call, because it should be powered down).
