I wasnt accusing you of not having a case. Just curious. It actually seemed to hold together well from that high up without any protection. I have a very thin TPU flexible case and I imagine my phone would look similar from a drop like that. Even with a heavy-duty case I'm sure it would be pretty beat up too.

Man, my heart skipped a beat or two with your post!
And I quickly hugged mine and hoped it never looks like that!
How in that world did that happened?
I have dropped mine, accidentally of course, at work from 4' and 6' ladders.
But I have 4 different cases and at work it normally has the strongest of them on.
So far, no scratches and no cracks at all!
Still, that doesn't mean I skipped a heart beat while my Note 8 was falling out of my hands. Every time I remember those falls, everything seems to happen in slow motion!
Good luck with the new one and please, use a case for crying out loud!
