My OK Google option 'from any screen' suddenly disappeared, where could it have gone?

Have 64GB S6 on Tmobile. Encountering the same issue. I hope it's fixed soon because I use voice detection when I bike.

It is now fixed!!!!! simply go to the play store, or your application manager, uninstall updates and reinstall.

Just uninstalled and updated the Google app again and it's now working from any screen!

I didn't do that but it works for me. I think its baked into the l latest Play Services update.

Just came here to post that it was working. Saw your post. Tried it and noticed that its not working from the lock screen (weather the screen is on or off) but I have trusted voices enabled. Hopefully this will be a quick update that fixes this (like tomorrow) still I'm divert happy to be able to use "ok Google" from any screen while my phone is unlocked for the time being.

Uninstall the Google app and reinstall it the Google app and it will work that's how I did it on mine

Update in PlayStore, then "Settings->Lock Screen & Security->Secure Lock Settings->Smart Lock->Trusted Voice".

Ok google from any screen seems to be broken but trusted voice seems to be broken.

It will take you to the unlocked lock screen after using ok google as opposed to directly to the google search. If you remove any of your security except for swipe or none, this will happen.

This inherently means that trusted voice is broken.

It is either an issue with google play services or an conflict between google play services and google search app.

If you remove google play services updates, trusted voice works again, but it leaves your google search and google apps crippled. You can also uninstall the update for the latest google search app and leave google play services as is. That seems to be the best solution short term, though there are some issues with that as well.

A trick to enable "Ok Google anywhere" is to open Google search and type in search box: "ok google everywhere". Than it will enable ok google on any screen option.

Uncontrollable voice recording is a security risk. There is several massive viruses exclusive to Android that Google and Samsung have none about four awhile. Google has been sitting on the cure. Samsung most likely wrote the virus. Neither company is going to just give us the cure because it would be admitting guilt and or weakness. Both companies have spyware more pervasive than a rectal exam. Google is probably hoping that by removing the recording software the inspection and ensuing public knowledge will disappear. Unfortunately out is to late. Android exploit 10 is going to be ousted soon and those at fault burned at the stake.

I'm not sure if this is a joke or the ranting of a lunatic. If you believe what you posted, it's time to trade in your smartphone for a flip phone. Better yet, get off the grid entirely and wear a tin foil hat.
