my phone got Hang and battery drained fastly

hi..
My phone got hang without any usage of applications and when I removed the Battery for Switch offing my Phone My Phones battery will be on below 5%. what is the Reason for this...? Please Help Me...

Welcome to Android Central! So the battery suddenly drops from a high level (like 80-90%) all the way down to 5%? It might be failing. Try a new battery.

then why it is hanging without usage.? sometimes I take my phone and it found hanging condition
