Android Central Question

I'm just a bit confused by phone tech stuffs sometimes which leaves the mind to wonder a bit which isn't always such a good thing lol ... for instance...yesterday I just all of a sudden couldn't and still can't get my hotspot to connect to my other phone and then earlier today I just completely lost all signal and internet connection in a place that I've never had any type of trouble before and now it has an H beside it...and wow as I'm typing this I just looked up at it and it says LTE like normal?!?!!!??

Poor signal. H is HSPA+, an older technology used for cell service. If you can't get a strong enough 4G signal it will drop to that to at least get you SOMETHING.

Welcome to Android Central! To expand on hallux's correct response, HSPA+ is technically 3G. If you're in an area of really bad reception (and if your carrier still uses 2G), you might even see "1X" or "E".
