Android Central Question

Hi everyone.

My phone, which is a nokia 5.1 plus running a stock android one 9 up to date, drives me crazy with an unknown notifications sound.

The problem I have is I hear a "notification" sound with no visual notifications I cant manage to understand from where it comes.

It is a 2 tones descending sound. usually comes 3 to 4 times in a row with approximately 2 sec intervals.
Its volume depends on the media volume. I could not locate the sound file on my phone so its not a notification sound in the way my phone see it.

This sound occur the most when I unlock the phone and it is connected to internet, or if I switch the wifi / or data on. This sometimes occur when the phone is locked and not in use.

It seems the sound play only when my phone is connected to internet. an general

Turning the screen on and off seems to trigger this sound less randomly.

I have downloaded the System log app, and it doesn´t log anything when playing this sound.

Thanks for your support !

It did played the sound when I booted in safe mode and landed on homescreen, but since I can't manage to trigger the sound again. but since its a little random i dont know if it is because of safe mode.

So maybe stay a little longer in safe mode see if it happens

It did happen again. I didn't change anything on my phone recently, just the media volume was muted for a long time, I started to notice it when i put back the volume, so may be the problem was here for quite a while.

You might have uninstall one by one any recent apps to see if it goes away

Hmm, that's really strange. I wonder how Nokia decides which phones get NFC and which don't? You'd think a "Plus" version of a phone would have more features, not fewer.:-\
