My phone thinks my charger is a samsung galaxy virtual reality device

Hello has anyone else had this problem? In 3 out of 5 of every time I connect my charger (doesn't matter which charger, I've tried 4 different) it thinks I'm connecting a Samsung galaxy virtual reality device and doesn't let me use my phone for around 2-3 minute as it turns the screen black with a little x at the bottom of the screen which you cannot click to close the screen. The only way I can get rid of this screen is to wait till 'VR' loads then hit back which takes around 3 minutes. When I connect the charger I get a womans voice saying something along the lines of 'Welcome to samsung galaxy VR, please disconnect your phone to download the software...' or something.

Any help would be appreciated.

let me guess. you have a case on your phone that contains metal parts. try removing it and see how it goes
