New Photon and I started experiencing the same issues that caused me to take it back the last time... Randomly, the system would become unresponsive. Some apps wouldn't launch, and ther was lag everywhere.

I decided to try dumping Go Launcher (which worked well on my Evo), and went back to Launcher Pro. Wow, that fixed it! Launcher Pro was my first love, and I'm glad she welcomed me back without the guilt trip. ;)

experiencing similar issues was thinking it was the themes I was using I may have to try launcher pro

Its really weird. For some reason launcher pro just works better then go launcher on the photon. I never had that issue when I was using go launcher, but launcher pro os definitely more responsive

I never tried launcher pro I guess I should is it better than spb shell was thinking of going that route

Well spb shell and launcher pro are two completely different styles, but if you want something responsive with lots of customization, then go for it. I personally love it.

I love Go Launcher but have experienced the lags, things not opening, etc. (I'm new to the Android world). When it works, it works great. When it doesn't I curse out Android (just kidding) and try a different launcher and inevitably come back to Go Launcher with all its issues.

It was driving me crazy trying to figure out what was making this incredible phone unstable. It appears I've found it and all of you are confirming. Not sure how you could live with that... at times, it wouldn't even let me type!

Launcher Pro is just as good, and has added some features since I last tried it. And none of the issues.

By the way, the paid version only adds some lame Widgets.

I was having problems too but some different ones. When I woke up the phone it was in my email or a music app instead of the home screen where I left it. Or when I slide the unlock I just get a blue screen until I press the home button.
I removed the launcher and did not have any more problems.....

I switched to ADW again and now I am getting the same issues that Go gave me.
I'm beginning to think that this phone isn't compatible with other launchers.

If it keeps up I will try Launcher Pro again.

I've been using GL for about 3 weeks now with no issues.

I have had go launcher on the photon since launch date and never had any issues with it. Works great on my photon. May need to email the devs about it and let them know. That way they can fix it.

I had some issues with go launcher also at first. My wall papers wouldn't stay on and it kept reverting back to the original Motorola wall paper. I removed it and re installed and its been working fine.

With Go Launcher, I just noticed that my desk clock is no longer activated upon opening the kickstand. Any way to get it working and still keep Go Launcher?

The first launcher I downloaded was SPB Shell. After some time, I started to ahve minor issues. For some reason when I would power on my phone it wouldn't go to the screen I picked for the "home" screen, it would go 2 screens over. I know that's not a major issue but it was enough to annoy me.....lol

I then switched to GO Launcher and I absolutely love it!! I haven't had any issues while using it and like how I can download different themes.

  1. Open the Moto launcher
  2. Open the kickstand
  3. Set the kickstand default to Clock Widget
  4. Rever to Go Launcher

Now, when you hit the home button after opening up the kickstand, it should take you to the clock.

I was using Launcher Pro and then installed Go Launcher to try it out. I noticed the sluggishness and app freezing and launch. One thing that helped was removing the weather (Go Weather I think) and that helped.

I really liked Go Launcher until the performance slowed way down. I agree that it seemed to have something to do with the weather plugin. I just switched back to Launcher Pro that I had purchased with my old Evo and the Photon seems much better.
