My Pixel 4a shipped.

Ugh, my pickup date from Best Buy was changed from today to Monday. How am I going to survive the whole weekend!

So was mine. I backed up my Key²LE and my wife's Blackberry Motion in anticipation. It is going to be a long weekend.

I'm anticipating my delivery date and time to change also. This way I wont be disappointed!
I've got my 3a still going so no issue.

Got mine yesterday. Really impressed with the quality of this phone for $350. I don't play mobile games, but I haven't noticed any difference in speed between this and the 4XL.

I hope this phone is successful for Google and they refining this formula.

I dumped Verizon many years ago...best move I ever made! LOL

My only 2 choices are Verizon and AT&T, which are essentially the same except where I am, Verizon has better coverage.

That said, today's talk with Verizon tech support was no joy. They're going to send me a new SIM card. The one I have still works, but when I put it back in my old phone, the phone is mostly unresponsive until I plug the charger in for a bit, then it works fine. If the new SIM card doesn't remedy the problem, the phone is going back for a replacement.

Got mine today. Solid phone man. I think when all things are considered this might be the best pixel to date. It's plenty fast, battery life seems to be pretty good too. Really solid phone

I totally agree. It honestly feels as snappy as my S20 making my 3a feel lethargic.

I ordered yesterday, now eagerly awaiting shipping notification. Case is out for delivery already though!

I played it with it for a few hours. I'll keep my 2 XL.

The 2 has a better screen (IMHO) , Is faster with my custom animations, and my battery which still rates as "Good" does not matter as I am always near a charger.

I'll give it to my daughter if she wants it to replace her Pixel 3.IMG_20200820_152331.jpg

I'm loving a lot about this phone.
The size is perfect. Smaller (more pocketable) than my 3a but has a larger screen.
More storage. 128gb is perfect for me.
Speedy.
A winner.

My 3a is up for sale on the forums if anyone is interested.

Picked up today at Best Buy.
Phone is great.
Surprisingly small and light. Almost too small and very light.

Definitely reminds me of Nexus 5, one of my all time favorites.

I agree! These mid-range phones pack a real punch - especially Google's "a" lines. Glad you are liking it! :)

Update. After spending 1hr45min with Verizon support (regular & tier 2) after I received a new SIM card, they said my device cannot be activated on their network, like it is locked or something. Trying now to contact Google, who it seems can't be bothered to call me back after going thru their little support questionnaire.

I swear to God I've never had so much trouble getting a phone activated before. And what angers me the most is that under the options on the store the day I ordered, I could've chosen the Verizon model with SIM card already included, but they wanted an additional $30 for it. And Verizon support is all over the place with their answers, as per fricken usual. One says just drop the SIM card in and it will set up itself. Another says that anytime you try to move a SIM card (even after it's been activated) you have to call in and have Verizon support make the change, and a third one says sometimes you do, sometimes you don't.

At this point I'm ready to send the f---ing thing back and be done with it.

This is why I left verizon for Fi a few years ago. I don't know if a carrier switch is possible for you but I highly doubt your struggles are Pixel related.

Actually, they appear to be. Verizon sees the SIM card, but the phone itself won't update to take the network settings. Google's Pixel support wants me to capture a bug report when it won't update the settings & send it to them. I'm going to try that tomorrow, but I'm not sure it will capture the error. It's not like an app that's force closing, it's just not updating the network settings, and not sure that will generate a bug report. The instructions appear to be very general so that's why I'm worried it won't work.

I may just have to return it for a refund and then purchase a new one or maybe I'll wait and see what the P5 turns out to be. Other than the 2nd camera, the visual core, and maybe the 90Hz screen, there isn't really anything else about the Pixel 5 that interests me.

For those coming from a 3A, is there a significant difference in speed? or anything else that stands out from the 3A (besides the physical appearance).

I have a 3A XL and while I love it for its battery size, it is quite uncomfortable to walk with in a pocket and I'm thinking of downsizing. The 3A XL has been my first phablet phone so going for a smaller device again is not an issue for me.

I'm just wondering if there is significant reason to upgrade to the 4A. I don't need to hold out for the 5 or 4A 5G as I don't need a flagship anymore nor do I require 5G.

I left Verizon a long time ago because of issues like this.
I know it's not always possible but, if it is, change carriers and be happier.
