My really great Note 7 purchase experience, just kidding, Best Buy and the suck, rant warning

Nice. Best Buy just instituted this fee on unlocked phones and reduced the window to 14 days for unlocked devices even for elite members as of August 1. Ugh

Best Buy was okay during the dawn of the DVD. Anyone recall when Best Buy employees were stripping the shelves of VHS titles and putting DVDs up there instead? I bought a portable DVD player, circa late-2001, which quickly went defective. Best Buy's 'tech-desk' sent my player out for repairs. After two weeks there'd been no word. Enter my girlfriend. She proceeded to bring her unique style of interfacing with customer service employees to the equation. We walked out of the store with a new DVD player and a voucher for five DVDs; those disc were rather pricey back then.

Good grief, it's a stupid card, nobody got cancer or something. I'd hate to see how you are going to handle issues in life that really matter.

Re: Best buy. Great experience.

It took 2 days and 3 hours per phone (2 phones) at Best Buy, I lost 30 GB of rollover data, lost my AT&T bonus monthly 5 GB of data and one memory card arrives in September. On the plus side we know the AT&T rep pretty good, The Best Buy mobile section know us pretty good and the Samsung rep gave us some really nice swag.

I did have to call the main AT&T customer line to get my original plan and bonus back but still ended up losing the 30 GB rollover. I walked in with 62.12 GB of data on my plan and the next day I had 30 GB remaining. It is not like I use all the data but after dropping my grandfathered unlimited 2 years ago it is almost the same thing.

The biggest issue is the Best Buy and AT&T systems do not talk to each other. As far as Best Buy goes they didn't charge us to put the screen protectors on and they really just were themselves even when the POS terminal rebooted during processing. The AT&T rep who help out on the 19th with the first phone even came in Saturday (he was off) to help process the second phone. The mobile group spent a lot of time with us while trying not to lose any other customers. We had a great time at the store.
