I just had my tb replaced due to no 4g signal at all. They tried everything. Since the outage it hasn't come back. So they send me a refurbished replacement and its power button feels like its stuck down, there is tons of light leakage below the haptic buttons. And the volume keys barely move. I can't understand how this stuff makes it out to the public. Do I call and have another sent to me?

Yes. Asurion has a history of craptastic refurbs

yes!! I am on my 3rd one!! Like I have said in the past, if people just let these quality/fit finish issues go, then the carrier and manufacturer has no reason to step it up and make quality prodicts. The more consumers deal with crap like this, the lower they will make their standards, and the more corners they will cut.

I love the TB, but in my opinion, if I worked at VZW (or any carrier) and HTC came to me to add this handset into our lineup, I would have told them we will carry it once you fix the light leakage issues, and the battery. Until then, take a hike.

Then it would force the manufacturer to improve their product. PERIOD!!

Why is the world are you getting a refurb?!?!?!? The phone has only been out a month and a half I think it is absurd to have paid that kind of money and have to get a refurb already.

I have a friend with an iphone and he's never complained about build quality. Although I would never get one, I do love how its buttons are. You actually know when you're using them.

I will literally go out of the way to spend more money and buy a new phone rather than deal with Verizon refurb phones. When I had my BlackBerry 9650, one of the keys stopped working so I contacted the warranty and got a refurb. Next day, the same damn key stopped working so I called, *****ed and they sent another. Once that one came, opened the box, the "certified like-new" phone had a scratch all the way across the screen. Got on the phone and *****ed like all hell to some supervisor and they claimed they where going to ship me a brand new one. Did they? Of course not they shipped me another one where the trackpad didn't work. At this point I filed a complaint with Verizon, ordered a OG Droid on eBay, got a $100 credit from Verizon on my account, and never went back to a BlackBerry or dealt with Verizon warranty service again.

I had the same thing happen but I had a 9630 that was replaced 4 times, and they sent my whole family new 9650s as replacements. The 9650 wasn't much better, and we as a family went through quite a few of them too, until I just upgraded to a Droid X. Out of the 3 new 9650s that I was sent, only one was good-and my kid has it.

Personally, I think that RIM has poor quality control.

jason if I was you I would go back to the store and demand new a TB, tell them that Verizon/HTC is aware that there is an issue with sticky power button and a few other problems and this crap isn't acceptable!

Hell I have issues with my phones, one right after the other. They replace the phone and not the sim 2x, then replaced the sim 3x cause data problems. Was just lucky enough I went to another store that I do business with, I was in there explaining to the store manager 3 weeks ago about connectivity problems and the hotspot dropping from my mobile devices. Showing hands-on what was happening, he just wanted to replace the sim each time.

Now after this outage I started having problems again like some others here and my case sounds just like in your situation mine kept losing data connection or 3G/4G. Showed the asst. manager it showed in the mobile network setting it stated failed. I also showed her where I called tech support 3x last week since this outage and she reviewed their notes. Then she called our local network guy about the problem, he stated to there is a possibility that when the outage occured that when some devices tried to reconnect it might have lead to some bad connections in reconnecting to the network. His recommendation was to her is to give me a new TB and a sim both, and yes I was past my 30 day return mark. But I like I stated earlier I have had quite a few issues dealing with there network and many calls to Verizon Tech Support, i really wasn't to settle for less. I would have been on the phone with executive CS if they tried to push a refurb on me?

I suggest to push the buttons and find out what can be done about this?

capacitive > physical buttons

They are sending me another refurbished tb. Hopefully this one is better. If it isn't ill just keep my original. I don't know what else to do.

Cool... just try to keep making them send it until you get a good one. Good luck man!

I hate being a pain in the ass. I did however buy a brand new phone. I didnt buy a refurb. That's something that pisses me off. Why is my purchase replaced with a used item???

Yea, it's bull dude. Can I just call an cancel my vzw ins., or is that part of the contract? I was thinking about looking into squaretrade. Any better?

Squaretrade, Ensquared, or Worth Ave Group are other options I've been looking at. Anyone have any experience with these?
