Took those after a couple drinks and they still turned out great! :D

For a phone, I think the camera is quite good. It takes better pictures than my sister's S3 (megapixels schmegapixels, it means nothing). I think it rivals my friend's iphone 4S camera in daylight which, deserved or not, seems to be the phone-camera gold standard right now. It completely blows the iphone out of the water in low light and indoors. It comes close to my Canon S100 up to a point, but blow up the pics and it's no contest.

I agree that there is only so much you can expect from a fixed lens tiny camera in the size constraints of a phone. My S100 has multiple lenses, dedicated electronics, a popup flash, and is over twice as thick as any phone and I still get the occasional messed up, out of focus, or motion blurred shot. It's rare, but I still get them.

Enjoy the phone knowing it does have one of the best cameras available right now in a mobile phone. I still take my Canon with me on vacations and special occasions, but for spontaneous moments, this is as best it gets... for now.

Concert pics are a tad blurry. All the other pics have good lighting and not moving..HUGE difference..

Less light means you need a longer exposure, which makes it blurry if there is fast movement. Don't know what you mean to say?

Let's see some of your pics.

Wow... I like those pics.. Very crisp picture to me. Thanks for sharing. It's always great to see what someone else thinks and I'm still waiting to see the op pics

Thanks. That was in auto mode too. The ISO in these pics is less than 200.
Next time I am going to try manually adjusting the ISO to 400 so I can capture the movement better. It will be slightly more noisy, but there will be less blur.

But where are your pics?

I think you dont got the htc one or do you?

If so post the pics so we can see whats wrong...

You are truly out of your mind if you think those concert shots aren't good for a phone.

If you want to continue to complain abut the One's camera, at least post a shot that compares the htc to another camera in the same situation.

It just isn't physically possible for phone cameras with slower lenses, no OIS, and smaller pixels to take better low light shots. It just isn't, how could it be. Give me your theory.

t is possible that you have no clue about photography and therefore have a combination of unrealistic expectations and poor photograpy skills which is leading to your disappointment.

Seriously, I don't know what people expect from a phone camera. Those concert pictures look quite amazing. Indoors, most likely very dark since it's a concert, multiple illumination points... and it looks like the One did a fantastic job in capturing the photo. Obviously when you zoom in the 4mp size limitation will rear its head. I don't see any blur at all...

Takes pretty darn good pics if you ask me....

@OP... it's just silly if you keep saying that the pics on the One (that are posted in this thread) are bad. The concert pics look better than anything else I've seen a phone camera take, and you've basically ignored every request by people to show your images.

It'd be nice for others to be able to see your faulty images, so that we can all know how bad the camera can get.

I find the pictures to be very detailed and sharp. Of course any cell phone pic will look back on a large computer screen. A lot of regular digital cameras do too. I think the camera on the one is better than any smartphone camera I've tested for clarity. It my not do the best at distances or while fast moving but still shots are greY in my opinion.

Well here are just random pics with my one.. One is using the front facing camera and others rear.. I'm totally fine with it.. Seems crystal clear..

Is the first picture you without the hat and sunglasses? ;) Of course I am joking and hopefully haven't caused offence.

I find the quality of the camera pictures I have seen adequate for what I want from my phone. I have a DSLR for when I want those pin sharp perfect photos and don't expect to get those with anything other than a DSLR. I don't have my One yet to give my experience, this is all from posted photos on the net.

Actually, Disney's Mad T Party stage is outdoors, but it's a nighttime shot so basically the same thing as an indoor shot. And yes, the pictures are absolutely fantastic. So is the video taken from same event (posted in photo sticky thread). I think above all other examples I have ever seen, these are the best pics and video I have seen from this camera.

I was using Nexus 4 for the past 6 months and the One camera is quite a big step up. Definitely in the same category if not better that the iPhone 4s one. Can't say anything about Galaxy S4, but from what I have seen, I wouldn't say there is much difference.

After taking over 600 pictures I can say that the camera is not good. Yes, you read that right. I love the HTC one..Best phone ever. But...The camera doesn't take good normal pics consistently. What I mean by that is that you can have a person at a party and u take 5 pics of the same scene. 2 Will look great and 3 will be blurry or off. These picture comparisons your seeing online is just stuff most dont take pictures of. I take pics of people indoors mostly, my pets etc. At our party saturday night just to make sure I wasnt wrong I asked 3 people what pictures do they take and it was all the same as I said. Just people photos and pets. Of the 600+ pics Ive taken there are a few that look great! But most don't. BTW i'm saying that they don't look great because I put them on my computer at home and there "faults" stick out big time. I was shocked because so many of the pictures looked great on my phone. Again this is just my opinion. For the record I don;t have the camera update.

OK, mate. Here is one of mine.

You can tell me it looks a bit soft or noisy. True. It was also low light, the subjects were moving and it was a 1/17 second exposure at 1982 ISO. If you think any other phone (save the pureview which is $750 on a gimped OS) could take this shot without being an underexposed, noisy, blurry mess than you don't understand enough to criticize this phone camera.

Photos taken with the One are always hit and miss for me. They almost always come out a bit noisy when processed. Videos though, are just outstanding.

The outside picture isn't as clear as it should be for a 600.00 dollar phone..but +1 for the hulk hogan !!!

It's a $600 phone/mediaplayer/browser/camera, not a $600 dedicated camera. Let a camera manufacturer make a camera with all the aforementioned functions and put it in a form factor for use as a phone.

My HTC One camera is horrible but I think I have nailed down the problem.

The left side is always perfectly sharp. From center to the right side it is out of focus mush.

I am guessing that it's a misaligned sensor.

I am a widely published photographer and I certainly didn't buy this to use as a camera for anything other than record pictures for my normal job but I do know what I am doing.

I ill take it in and test it against a store phone and have them swap it out if the store one is better.

If I had the sharpness across the frame that I have on the left side I would be thrilled with it.
