My review of the htc one camera

My HTC One camera is horrible but I think I have nailed down the problem.

The left side is always perfectly sharp. From center to the right side it is out of focus mush.

I am guessing that it's a misaligned sensor.

I am a widely published photographer and I certainly didn't buy this to use as a camera for anything other than record pictures for my normal job but I do know what I am doing.

I ill take it in and test it against a store phone and have them swap it out if the store one is better.

If I had the sharpness across the frame that I have on the left side I would be thrilled with it.

Exchanging it should take care of that issue. :-)

I agree with you when saying that HTC one camera is a hit and miss (sometimes focus does not shift fast enough or sometimes it does not react at all ).
But I would like to add that somehow it is my experience with all HTC phones I had untill now (Legend, Sensation and now One). Still, I find HTC to make phones that best fits my needs so I get over the camera issues :)

My problem with current One is that I see big distorsion on lower and left side edges that should be horizontal/vertical look like parable and hyperbole. Did anyone else experience this?

OK, mate. Here is one of mine.

You can tell me it looks a bit soft or noisy. True. It was also low light, the subjects were moving and it was a 1/17 second exposure at 1982 ISO. If you think any other phone (save the pureview which is $750 on a gimped OS) could take this shot without being an underexposed, noisy, blurry mess than you don't understand enough to criticize this phone camera.

Ok, well the above picture, remember was almost 2000 iso, so of course it is a bit noisy - I posted it to show it is good at low light.

Here are some from today at reasonable ISO levels - if I say so myself, I think these show the camera on this phone lives up to the hype.

I don't understand what the issue is.... I have yet to take a bad picture with this thing, and I do send the photos to 23"monitors to look at. They look great. Especially nighttime shots and indoor shots. The daylight shots are good. I have no issue with them.

Well here are just random pics with my one.. One is using the front facing camera and others rear.. I'm totally fine with it.. Seems crystal clear..
