My S5 Mini has my wifi blocked by router security, how can I get past this?

Samsung S5 mini: recently can't connect to wifi any more. tried all the tips is the troubleshooter (rebooted router, forget and reconnect connection, updated router firmware). Only thing that works is to remove router security, obviously not a long term solution.

change router security type. also try changing WIFI channel.

thanks Gekko. the security options for my router (Netgear DGN2200v3) are as follows:
Security Options
None
WPA2-PSK [AES]
WPA-PSK [TKIP] + WPA2-PSK [AES]
WPA/WPA2 Enterprise

Last one doesn't work. AES is default but blocks the samsung. TKIP+AES also blocks it.
Have changed wifi channel, no change.
Have also made sure that "keep wifi on during sleep" is always on. also checked on router that "internet access QOS" is not on
Any more suggestions please?

Are you using a password with any unusual characters or a space? Try a very simple and short password with just alphabetic characters and no spaces first and see if that helps.
