My Samsung Galaxy S3 won't turn on

Well, the firmware that I referenced was the latest version on that site (which is usually up-to-date). However I don't think that loading it will fix your problem - I don't believe the stock firmware overwrites the /data partition. If you had a rooted device and custom recovery software it would be easy to format /data. I thought the stock Recovery software would reformat /data when you performed a Factory Reset - I'm not sure why you're still encountering that error message.

Re: My Samsung galaxy S3 won't turn on

My phone show the charge thing and it shows empty battery and a little loading icon which is not doing anything and turns off and the automaticly turns on about 10 seconds and I charged my phone 2 hours and it showed it over and over again nothing was changed

Re: My Samsung galaxy S3 won't turn on

hello, am having same problem at the moment. My battery died last night so I plug my phone to charge leaving the phone off so it could charge faster. As normal I can see the battery charging with the LED light red as normal, after a while it turns green which indicate its fully charge. So I took it off the charger and turn it on the Samsung GALAXY sign comes on as usual then the SAMSUNG sign and it just stuck there with the LED light blue and the screen stays that way with the Samsung sing and the blue LED light on. I try to turn it on and try again same thing keeps on happening over and over. And when I try to leave the phone on maybe it will come on nothing same Samsung sign and LED light and the phone start getting really hot. I even try a different battery since I have two batteries same thing, I thought it might be the battery but I try them in my husband which is same phone the batteries are both working fine so it can't be that. and I try pressing home button, volume and power its just keep on turning off and coming back on with same thing.
ANY IDEA HOW I CAN FIX THIS PLEASE...

Re: My Samsung galaxy S3 won't turn on

Why the pc failed to recognize the mobile phone while using kies 3.? As mention in post# 64 or 65.

Re: My Samsung galaxy S3 won't turn on

GSDer,

Thanks this TOTALLY worked for me. I had clicked on a link in an email from trusted email address and then my Avast! said "warning malicous site." I yanked the battery and waited a while. Then I tried to turn it back on and it did nothing. I used your solution and "Shazam!" I was back in the saddle again. I provided details for forum FYI.

Re: My Samsung galaxy S3 won't turn on

Hi,

So I did something stupid I guess. I was playing with Samsung gt-s7560 by trying different roms and I found this one:
galaxytrendplus.jecool.net/rom-downloads/
I know it was for s7580 only, but anyway I did it, so everything went well until reboot part, phone switched off and didn't turn on. At this point phone is not responding to anything: power button, download, recovery mode, when plugged charger (several different usb, wall mounted) no led or charging indicators, replaced battery from different phone (same battery) no reaction on power button or other button combinations. Odin and Kies of course can't see phone.
What can I do and is it possible to hard brick phone only by installing incompatible rom?

My samsung galaxy s3 mini won't turn on unless it's plugged into the charger, and i am going out today and can't keep it plugged in and i will need to use it-what do i do?
I can't do anything if it involves the main home button, as it doesn't work but all the other buttons do.
Any given feedback would be much appreciated, thank you.

Opening the phone and blowing canned air on the power switch, then cleaning with alcohol and a q-tip for good measure did the trick! I don't recommend banging the phone as other suggested. Thanks!!

Samsung, without exception, is the worst phone on the market. I cannot believe that people actually buy their crap. I have had the same problem with the phone turning off randomly, not charging because the instruments are cheap crap, completely user UN-friendly, etc. I can't wait to get back to an iPhone. I would rather have a convenience store cheapy. At least then I would get what I pay for!!!

I have a Verizon Galaxy S3. Bought it last year on eBay. It was running fine till 3 days ago. Then when I disconnect the charge cable. It won't turn on at all (no vibration, no display). If the charge cable is connected, the screen shows battery being charge. However, unlike before, no percentage shown till it's 100% charged. If I press the Power button, it will show Samsung logo and then Verizon logo, then it just goes back to battery charging display.

I tried removing the battery, waited and then pressed the Power button. After re-inserting the battery, pressed the Powe button. The phone showed no response (no vibration, blank screen). The condition stays the same as above.

I put the battery into another S3 and verified the battery is good.

I found your suggestions. With the charge cable connected and pressing Power/VolumeUp/Home button, I went into Recovery mode. I tried Wipe Cache from Partition. No improvement. I tried Factory Reset. No improvement. Then I pressed Power/VolumeDown/Home button. In the Download mode, I used Kies to re-install the firmware. After it went through the whole process, it is in the same condition as it had started.

What else can I do?

My samsung gt s7582 fully off

Before i tried to flash a new version of cwm in my phone and i saw a red reclamation mark after 2 days my phone is not staring i cannot enter recocery or downlaod mode so please help me please now i cannot even see the starup screen with red exclamation mark :(

I've currently got that horrible screen when I turn on my S3 (white with thin black lines). Can't off it. Is it salvageable?

I have an old smasung I bought at a garage sale (slide up but touchscreen too.) And it has the battery in it still and looks completely fine! Then I go to turn it on and its completely black. I;ve tried charging it for 24 hours straight. ANd still not even a sign of life.

Any ideas???

I've tried all of that and yet it still doesn't work. It acts like it's turning on but stays on the same screen as if it were turning on with the 4G and the circle lights around out. I've been trying to take out the battery and leave it out then turn it back on and charge it for a bit while turned off and nothings working. I've been trying everything all day

This is what I'm facing right now, anyone can help??

Here is the thing: I got a Samsung Galaxy S3 from a friend for temporary usage. As you can figure out, the phone is old and was used a lot. Everything was fine, except that the battery dies very fast, but this is normal for the age of the phone. However, today it started locking and unlocking the screen, blinking, I also saw these messages "abdroid.process.media has stopped" (sth like that), also "Photos has stopped". Then with the time being it started switching off after locking by itself. To switch it on, I had to wait a lot, press the power button many times and so on. I decided to make a factory reset (from Settings). Now it won't even turn on. Led does not show charging, screen does not light (only for less than a second I saw the Samsung sign and with smaaaaal blue letter top left corner there was sth written, too). It vibrates when I plug it in charger and that is all. I tried taking the battery out and so on and on...Also, pressing all 3 physical buttons at once.. Nothing! Please, help!
