My Samsung Galaxy S4 did not update to android 4.3?

Ok, so I received a notification on my unlocked Samsung Galaxy S4 stating that I have a new Software update. As far as I know the new update should bring along a newer version of android into my S4; android 4.3. So I updated my phone with no problems, it said that my device was successfully updated but when I looked at the current version of android on my phone, it still says 4.2.2! There is no reading mode either! I tried to update it again but it says that I have the latest updates installed. I restarted the phone but still nothing changed.

CAN SOMEONE HELP ME OUT?

Not every upgrade is a version upgrade. Quite often they are just security and bug fixes, depending on your carrier. So far 4.3 is out for only a few very limited carriers.

The update was not jb 4.3 just bug fixes and a optical reader

Happened to me, just like Victor said.
From memory it was a full 356Mb which is a massive download for such little gain.

I know it is getting really annoying having to wait so long. Your lucky your S4 will see it before my Note 2.
Android Central did a piece on it in the news feed.

Just updated to 4.3 from JB4.2.2 4 or so days ago. Thought you'd like to know. :beer:

Tmobile customer here- still waiting for 4.3. About to write it off as "will never receive it". Heck, I have a Nexus 4 I use as a backup phone and just as an internet phone at work and it is already on 4.4.
