my samsung galaxy s6 edge hasnt been update to android version 5.1.1 uptodate why?

i have bought a samsung phone, two months ago, but up today its software hasn't been updated like my friends, why> it should have android version 5.1.1,

what could be the problem?

Welcome to Android Central! Did you get it unlocked, or directly from a carrier? If the latter, which carrier? Are you using a carrier-specific phone on that same carrier, or on a different one?

Carrier-specific phones usually have to be on the same carrier to get an update, and different carriers don't necessarily push the update out at the same time.
