My samsung galaxy s6 edge refused to charge

my Samsung galaxy s6 edge battery went totally down . I plugged it to charge and it refused to start charging. Instead , it was flashing the battery logo every 4 minutes. Please help me out.

It could be that the battery is dead all the way. I would try leaving it plugged in over night to see if it fixes itself.

I'm actually on the forum now because two galaxy s6 just went bad today. My wife's won't charge, and her aunts own is giving her an error that the phone is overheating and it keeps shutting down.
