This morning, after checking a few apps on my samsung galaxy, the smoke alarm started to sound. I tried calling the apartment management about it. As soon as dialing started, the alarm went off. when I hang out, alarms restarted. after going thru this cycle a few times, I restarted my samsung, and the alarm no longer goes on. I am not 100% its was the smoke alarm. it was something loud and sounds like the smoke alarm.

How is this even possible?

Click on settings, the clock icon and disable this alarm....

It's possible (though hopefully somewhat unlikely) that your phone happened to be transmitting (WiFi, Bluetooth, or Cell) on a frequency that the fire alarm network uses to "spread" the alarm through the building. Most fire alarms do this through the house wiring (that's what mine do at my house - if one alarm goes off it sends a signal over the house electrics to all the others to start going off so a fire alarm in the basement doesn't go unheard in the bedroom, or vice versa).

It's possible your networked fire alarm in your apartment building is just listening for some signal, any signal, on a given frequency, and if it hears it it triggers the alarm - and your phone happened to be using that frequency for a few minutes and when you made the phone call it dropped that frequency, only to pick it back up again when you terminated the call.

My guess would be that it was LTE. Your phone fell back to an older voice technology to make the call for some reason, and gave up the LTE frequency it was on, but re-established the same frequency when you hung up. A reboot caused the phone to renegotiate with the cell tower from scratch, and you got a new frequency.

It could also have just been bizarrely freakish coincidence. :)

Something similar to this happened to me (HTC one M8) yesterday. It isn't the "alarms" and it probably isn't frequency interference. My phone started emitting a loud smoke-alarm tone when I set it down after interacting with it. The tone is so intense and high pitch, that it is difficult for human ears to determine that it is coming from the phone and not from a smoke detector. After several minutes, I did find out it was the phone by putting my thumb over the speakers. No alerts on the screen, nothing to indicate this was an alarm or amber alert or an emergency notice or anything. I rebooted the phone and it went away. Maybe this is a new virus or exploit? This is the strangest thing I've seen all year.

It happen to me it was GOD AWFUL ear piercing. I typed in Google galaxy s7 siren noise after I went to Verizon Today and called samsung. They ALL said I was lying.......I walked in Verizon told them what happen at my apartment building it just went off out of nowhere

It was so bad the building manager came over!!!! They thought it was fire alarm smoke detectors. UNTIL......Get this.....my phone alarm went off and interrupted it......it was then we realized it was my galaxy s7 ......then I shut my phone alarm off then it went back on Earth Piercing siren. .....the only way to disable is to shut your phone off.....or turn your phone alarm on......absolutely scary as hell....I'm ready to call news station or go on you tube.....as this is happening to more and more people.....imagine....a kid driving or a grandmother driving.. ...holding a baby in your arms....and this happens.....the noise is so bad all 4 of us had a headache for HOURS.......

SO sorry you had to go through this....as we did.....I walked in Verizon I demanded explanations and a new phone.....they called me a Liar..... :( but replaced my phone with the same model.....I begged for a different one....
