My screen is Black and nothing is happening, what should I do?

Screen is Black and nothing is happening

Hi guys I have an HTC Desire 816 and I just rebooted and now on startup my screen is just black without the soft buttons or the notification bar. Also, the charging LED isn't showing and pressing the power button doesn't do anything. Please help. Thanks.

Welcome to Android Central! Does it vibrate when you try to power on? Do you hear any other tones? If you do, then the screen has failed and needs to be replaced. If nothing happens at all, then the battery might have died, or worse yet, the motherboard--that would require a trip to the repair shop.
