My Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact review

Did you returned your compact? Pixel 1st Gen is still excellent device. I traded in my Pixel XL for my pixel 2. I still ended up paying like $310 but I think it was worth it. Pixel 2 battery last longer than my pixel XL lol.

I can't return it, because it dropped once There are 2 scuffs that are noticeable on the body. If I return it, they will take 50% just for those. I'll be selling it once I get the chance to take pictures and such.

Nice! Aw but $310 is better than what it was before. Wow, that's awesome about the battery life on the Pixel 2. I miss the battery life already.

Hopefully someone else feels the same way. The screen is perfectly fine though. I'll have better luck dealing with selling for whatever rather than deal with returning it and getting a little over $200 back because of condition lol. That hurts my soul.

Been using mine for about a week now and I dig it.

Compared to my Z5C and XC it's noticeably faster and smoother. The screen also looks better to my eyes. Happy with it other than the fact I am still stuck on the August security patch. Heck even my Z5C has September's update.

Glad to hear it! Just go to the update and check daily. I got my October patch a few days ago...

I too have August security patch and mine is international version. How do you like your battery life compared to z5c?

Battery life is NOT as good as the Z5C so far. I am getting a lot of idle drain but nothing shows as abnormal in the battery usage stats.

With my Z5C I'd get about 5-51/2 hours of SOT but the XZ1C is only managing about 4-41/2.

If I leave it off the charger overnight, I am seeing massive drain.. 30% or so..

Wow something is definitely wrong. Check the battery activity and see what the drainage is. Do you play a lot of games and watch video?

Battery stats don't show anything abnormal. No games no videos. Most the drain is when idle / in deep sleep mode.

Yup, battery life is very good. I think I can get mine 10 SOT but I charge my phone before I go to sleep so not sure it will drain battery life.

It sucks that raqball is having issues, I have to say that it was my second best phone for battery life ever. I look at my Pixel and I miss that battery life I had on the XZ1C.

Wow that's odd. How's your signal? I went between weak signal and strong signal areas. Also do you have high accuracy on? I'm sorry that this is going on with your phone. Also have the international version too.

Signal where I live is not the greatest but it's better than it was on the Z5C. Location is in battery saving mode.

Not sure what's going on with it. I have a ton of the crud disabled and I've done 2 factory resets. I just cleared the cache on the phone (hold power and volume up until the phone vibrates 3 times, then reboot) so I'll see if that helps any.

I do have brightness cranked up but I always have it set there and didn't see these issues on the Z3C, the Z5C or the XC..

Maybe the battery is just out of calibration and needs a few charging cycles to correct. I've always gotten stellar battery life from the Compact line.
