Just got a software update this morning for my Sprint Galaxy Note 8. The update included the addition of Sprint's Calling plus feature, which enables the user to place calls via Sprint's LTE network, making Simultaneous Talk and Data. Now, this had initially been rolled it as a beta for Sprint's Galaxy S8 and S8 plus. I lost this feature when I went from the S8 be plus to the Note 8. The feature is still in beta, but it's good to see the Note 8 now being included.
The update also includes an updated Calendar, Gallery, a fix for for the error but for Dex, and more...

This sounds like great news! I have an unlocked Note 8. Sprint is my service provider. The new update has not been offered to me yet. Do you know how I go about receiving this update?

Thanks

You won't get the update from Sprint. Only Sprint phones get updates from Sprint. You will have to wait for updates directly from Samsung, and even then you won't get Calling Plus as it's a Sprint feature. That being said, you can flash the Sprint firmware on your unlocked phone and then possibly get updates from Sprint. This is the reason I bought a Sprint phone even though I bought directly from Samsung.

I got it this morning also, signal strength is the same or better, it's not worse like it's been mentioned in another thread.

I love the new calling plus over lte. Signal is better too. I haven't done data and calling at the same time yet though.

SO far, so good. My girlfriend likes to go on the long monologues when I talk to her on the phone, I cannot tell you what a blessing it is ti be able to use my data now, while she's talking. Also, the LTE calls sound so much clearer, though I have noticed that keeping on does uses slightly more battery than it used to.
