My Stupid Question of the Day - Speed Dialing

My wife just bought her first smart phone. The G2.

But. She is still used to her old phones. Which meant she raised a question that stumped me.

"How do you do speed dialing?"

Eeeck. I hardly used it before and on my smartphones I always use the photo quick dialers.

So. If it does, how?

If it doesn't, what's a good quick & simple to use dialer?

go into a contact, in the top right corner push the Star button, which makes them a favorite. Next time she opens the dialer, the top right tab will list the favorites.

there's also Dialer One where you can assign phone numbers to hotkeys on your key pad, so calling Dad would be as easy as holding down "2"

or she can just add shortcuts to her homescreen of ppl she calls frequently.

Well I think I have a faster way
* Long touch your wallpaper until menu comes up
* Choose to add a Shortcut to your home screen
* and in the Shortcut list, choose Direct Dial.
Voila !

Eh, I still prefer Starring my favorites

Is there any way to setup a favorite and then have it automatically dial some numbers after the phone number is dialed? I set this up on my Treo 680 for some conference call numbers. One click dialed the phone number and followed up by automatically dialing the conference ID.
