I've been pouring in hours upon hours trying to figure out what are the best apps for the HTC One for me so far after about a month of usage and here's my list (in no particular order):

**note** my assumption is that most people will have the "standard" apps that everyone has so not worth mentioning here (i.e. Dropbox, Viber, Yelp, etc.)

1) Astro File Manager - Allows you to traverse and find pretty much any file on your phone storage. An extremely useful app to find those hidden files that you want to delete or just to search for something you downloaded because your phone is idiotic sometimes and saves it in random places you otherwise wouldn't be able to easily find. Allows you to edit and delete files on the spot as well which is nice.

2) UCCW Custom Widgets - Having this installed allows you to enter a gateway into alot of home screen customizations. UCCW skins are some of the best looking widget skins on the android market and all of them require UCCW to be installed. It's free so why not? You can check out my homescreen in the thread here: http://forums.androidcentral.com/htc-one/270113-post-your-home-screens-here-11.html#post2797791

3) Battery Widget Reborn - I think this is probably one of the best battery widgets out there for battery usage and detail information. Looks slick and fits any homescreen style. Gives you tons of detailed information about your battery life, usage and history.

4) Power Toggles - Almost a must have for android devices. Allows you to customize a power toggle menu with your most important/common power toggles. Being able to customize the look and feel and also pin it to your notifications bar is a added plus. Very useful for quick toggles such as GPS, Bluetooth, Wifi and even your flashlight apps. Can be used to directly power down your phone if you're rooted.

5) Clean Master - A great task manager type application which allows you to easily clear unnecessary temp/cached files that take up precious storage space. Also allows you to easily clear your browser/app cache history for privacy and terminate tasks which may be eating up your CPU RAM.

6) Wallpapyrus - Ever get annoyed that you have to crop every HD wallpaper photo that you try to set for your phone? Well this app allows you to set your wallpaper images exactly the way you see them in full HD glory without any cropping! Very simple yet powerfully useful app in my opinion.

7) PicsArt - There are a ton of photo editing tools out there (and probably all of them are better than Instagram). I personally really loved PicsArt and have used it through various version updates. Their new UI is more tile-based and the look and feel is very nice. Alot of editing features, easy to navigate menus and very compatible when it comes to sharing functionality.

8) Widget Locker - For anyone who has wondered how to customize their lock screens, you need this widget/app. It allows you to set your own wallpaper and add whatever widgets you want on the actual lock screen itself. This is how many people can get very slick looking lock screens because this widget allows you to fully customize it.

9) Simple Text - This is basically an app launcher that launches any app on your phone. The neat thing is that instead of using icons, it uses custom text boxes that you can edit. Really useful for minimalistic home screen designs and people who want to use text icons instead of standard picture icons.

10) Eye in the Sky Weather - This is by far the easiest to use and best-looking weather widget I have seen on the market. It has 4 different widget size options and has a variety of editing options. The setup and installation is very easy and it looks great on any home screen design.
