My two cent Review.

Hey Jeremiah. Downloading a third party app what is the minimum shutter speed you could use cause you know I love my long exposure photography?

Have you looked at the battery thread in here?

Yea battery life is looking solid. I have two battery kits for the v20 so i need my next phone to be above average which the note 8 isn't. I think i can live with the 2 xl without having too much battery anxiety lol

Any feedback on signal strength? I had the hollow bar no signal issue with Pixel XL. Curious to know if this has been fixed.

I do wish for a wide angle. That came in very handy. Would be funny if Google some how found a way to make it by programming some sort of panorama stitching, before you even tap the shutter button.

Damn, that would be awesome! I love the LG wide angle lens as well.

That is the only thing I'd miss, but got to tell you what I'm seeing in the Pixel camera is just stunning. If you follow my posts you'll know I don't give cell phone cameras a lot of respect, but the Pixel has earned mine. My only real complaint would be that it doesn't match the audio recording quality for video of the LG V series.

Its contradictory because in the grand scheme of things the second lens that these phones are 'lacking' really wouldnt do anything to help matters.

We're talking about cell phone camera lenses. Right now, depending on what phone you buy, they will at absolute most give you a 2x optical zoom, a greyscale photo, or an 'ultra wide' viewing angle photo that really isnt that much wider than stock. The main purpose for the dual camera setup in all of these cases is portrait mode, and using the data captured by both cameras to accurately determine how to effectively blur the backgrounds of your portrait photos (and in the case of the greyscale lens, more acurate color reproduction?).

Google does this primary function with one camera.

Arguably, the only secondary camera option that really would be of any use is a telephoto lens to get that 2x optical zoom, but why not just move closer to the subject? If something is so far away or inaccessible that you cant get a good shot of it with the regular camera, a 2x telephoto isn't going to help you much 90% of the time.

So why does it need a second camera? To make the phone more expensive?

It depends on what you like. On a cell phone wide angle is my preference. Doesn't make me right or wrong, just someone who appreciates choices. Having said that, the Pixel's single camera is a beast and wins my vote.

I would say try looking into the Wide Moment lens. From what I've seen the quality is legit.

Come over to the dark side RaRa
Lol I really have to investigate before I make a decision. The biggest hurdle being that since it is unlocked there's no turning back a year from now unless I had it paid off by then. Unlocked phones don't offer any type of upgrade path through the carrier.

Yeah I was sad cause I was just talking about how content I was with the phone. It's actually a really good phone and my wife is tripping cause she misses her G6 now.

The T-Mobile patch messed it up and the os kept crashing.. but the pixel 2 is banging

@Jeremiah Bonds[FONT=Mona1 Bold, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif] Nice review. I agree with your points so far almost exactly.

For me, the camera is insanely good, portrait mode is great too, way more useful than I thought it would be. The screen doesn't both me - other than I'd like it to be punchier, and I am getting my wish in a few weeks there. Battery life is great and I love the new stuff (Now playing, AOD, the Charmin squeeze, waterproofing, etc. Only had it a few days, but it gets better every hour I have it.

Did I mention how much I like the camera yet? :-)
