My un-scientific Pixel review - Please pass the Butta

I see what you are getting at, but the difference is this is basically a samsung issue, with their product line in general. Not a good track record if you ask me. It is their entire line of electronics, cell phones, washers, dryers. not just limited to their handsets. Leaves more of a bad taste in peoples mouth

I have a note 2 & note 4. Galaxy S6 edge and S7 Edge, wide screen led tv and I've never had an issue.

I've never heard of any problems like this before. What did you have to do to fix it?

If you don't dis-associate your mobile number with iMessage on your iPhone before removing the SIM your account kind of get's highjacked. I could not receive messages from iPhone users. I had to call Apple and they sent me a link to globally drop my mobile number from being associated with my iMessage. It's really weird. I posted a link in another thread here, can't find it right now.

If you have to, you can disconnect via iCloud. My wife had to do that when he iPhone 6 died.

Your friends are silly. I'll bet they all drive cars that at some point have been recalled or a different model from the same company. Look at toyota. A few years ago they had accelerator issues that were killing people. Any of your friends own a toyota? Bet they do. Another example is GM. Not only were people getting killed by faulty ignition switches, but their top execs new about the issue and did nothing. Any of these people own a GM car? . See what I'm getting at?

Fully understandable but to call his friends silly because they hear all these issues with Samsung products and bringing them into question isn't a bad thing. It is great you haven't had the issue but it doesn't mean others are in the same boat (hence the reports of these things happening to Samsung products). Recalls can happen and it sucks but it doesn't mean people will always stay loyal such as yourself. An example for me is I tried ATI cards (gaming PCs) and had one that failed on me .. I have never bought another ATI card to this day and stay with Nvidia. Is Nvidia worry-free? Of course not -- all products can have issues but that bad taste from ATI has made me never want to go back.

I for one think it's going to take a lot of convincing to get a lot of people back with Samsung again. I have many friends with Samsung phones and they said they would never go back . Exploding batteries washers and dryers catching fire . They are going to have to pull out all stops and then some to get many to believe or trust in their product line again.Maybe it won't change anyone's mind about them but I certainly know a lot of friends where Samsung anything is not even an option anymore

I know folks with them too... they're all going back to Sammy and so am I. Preorder and all. They'll get it right. <she said as she took a really deep breath...>

I understand the sentiment. However I have quite a few family members and friends with Samsung phones who enjoy their phones and plan on staying with Samsung. My S7 Edge has been great so far.

It's good to have so many choices. I personally have never owned a Samsung in the past. I know many that still use them and will continue to use them unaffected by the turn of events. On the other hand some of them said they will never buy again because of the issues. It's pretty mixed so far. I know how brand loyalty is as I have owned nothing but blackberries for the past 8 years. Was hard giving them up for different reasons, but I moved to the pixel as I wanted to experience Android in its pure form. If Samsung comes out with something that I am personally impressed with, I would probably give them a shot. Android is new to me but liking it so far.

I do know one thing for sure though: Most of my coworkers use Samsungs and are impressed by the speed and smoothness of the pixel. Some have even stated their phones never felt this good or smooth. To each their own
