My unboxing experience

So my wife's EVO finally arrived in the mail today from Sprint. She had been eyeing the EVO I've had for the last week or so and was quite excited to have her own. I had run upstairs as she began to open up the UPS package, when I heard her shout, "Mine looks different than yours."

I ran back down, only to discover . . .

They had sent us a Hero instead.

So now I get to fool with sending that thing back to Sprint while getting dropped to the very end of the waiting list for what I hope to be an actual EVO to arrive at some point. I've been a very happy Sprint customer for a long while, but this gaffe was quite disappointing.

(And to note: It was confirmed on Sprint's end that nowhere in the process of ordering the phone was there a misunderstanding in my pronunciation of "EVO," thinking I had said "Hero." They just sent the wrong phone.)

I'm sorry, I shouldn't laugh, but I can't help it! :D

It's like ordering a Ferrari and getting a Yugo :p

I hope your exchange process is as painless as possible

It reminded me of one of those bad Christmas experiences, when you're oh-oh-so-certain what is underneath the gift wrapping of a particular package is exactly what you wanted. You then get to the box, which is something you totally hate. But for an instant you think it's a gag, so you eagerly rip open the box . . . only to discover what's inside is indeed the crappy thing it's dressed to be.

The box to return the thing can't get here soon enough.

This is why they should've named it after what was on Samuel L. Jackson's wallet in Pulp Fiction.

At least you weren't greeted by an expensive phone packaged in a Microwave Dinner Container!! Or I guess that is what you WERE hoping for...

The Hero isn't THAT bad. It's more like ordering a Ferrari and getting a Camaro, methinks. My daughter has a Hero and she loves it. With 2.1, it's actually pretty darned good.

Actually, it would be more like ordering a Ferrari and getting a Volare. Right? Mr. Roarke?
