My wifi stopped connecting- I think maybe I accidently erased something important :/

yesterday, my lg g3 "asked" if I want to do "smart cleaning" so I figured why not and erased the temporary files and the download folder, although I haven't erased the idle apps.
today when I woke up I saw that the wifi icon disappeared and when i try to connect it just says "saved" and it doesn't connect. I don't know if its related but i have a feeling that I have erased some data that is vital for the lg to connect to wifi network IP adresses.
My wifi at home works so its not the provider. I tried turning the device on and off but it didn't solve the problem. What should I do?

If you are able to do so, make a backup of your phones information, then do a factory reset of the device. It should restore your ability to receive wifi on your phone.
