my x is gets really sluggish

I get lag with LP, ADW, or Blur. Roughly the same for all 3. I'd say LP and ADW are better, but my DX does lag more than I think it should. Not crazy like this guy's, but not as smooth as it probably should be. Does everyone get that, or could it be my hardware?

out of curiousity, when you use adw or lp, do you go back to your stock home screen first and delete the home screen and widgets from it? if you didnt, then those widgets/shortcuts are running twice, which could also cause slowdown

Glad you mentioned that, its something many people over-look!

Blur is STILL running in the background, ADW or LPP or not.

Good point. I have removed all widgets from the home screens on Blur, but not all the icons, etc. Is that necessary too?

hi,

can anyone give me some ideas as to why my x is sluggish often?

After I do a soft rest, after some time it gets soo slow that I try and text or send an email and I have to tap the screen a few times before it even recognizes that im doing so..

I dont have much on here and there is only a bit running in the background.

any ideas?

thank you

BEWARE automatic updating of your Market apps. When they download in the background, they can bring all your X ops to a screeching halt. Check your apps one at a time and make sure the "automatic updating" box is NOT checked. You will get notifications when there are updates and then can download a bunch at a time when it is convenient to you.

I would like to know this too. If I want to try LP, do I just remove all my widgets and install it? Can I still use any of my Motorola widgets over LP? I don't want to lose the "contact quick tasks" widgets.

BTW- I'm a Terp too! Go Terps!

nice having a decent football team to watch this year, eh?

you can try LP w/o clearing out your home screen; just dont set it as your default home screen until you are sure you like it (or you can use an app like home switcher to go between your regular and LP). its not required to clear out the stock home screen to use launcherpro; just slows everything down. i wouldnt take the time to clear my stock home screen until you are sure you prefer to use launcherpro as your regular launcher, as it can be a PITA to replace everything, especially if you use a lot of icons/widgets

the moto widgets dont work quite right on LP (this is unfortunately true of all home replacements; just the way it is), but if you like LP, you can buy the pro version from the dev. the pro version gives you a bunch of cool widgets as well, including a scrollable contacts widget that is kinda similar to the moto one. you also get one for messaging, social networking, bookmarks, and calendar. not bad for $3
